Exam Stress

Exams bring stress to most students, so finding ways to manage stress and using your time wisely helps reduce the amount of stress you get around exam time. Below are some tips to help reduce your stress before and during exam time. It is important to try and eliminate stress so you don't burn out and waste your energy. Some stress is good, is mean you care about what you are doing. It is also key to try and find things that take your mind off exams so you aren't spending heaps of time worrying about your workload. So here are some tips, apps, and videos to try and help reduce the amount of stress you have. 

 

1. Prioritize and stay organised

Making a plan for when and what topic you are studying is going to help keep you on task. You will know what topics to focus on, as you have made a study plan. Setting dates and times to cover each topic will give you a clear idea on how much time you need to dedicate your time to your subjects. Having a diary and a what to do list will make you feel super prepared and you will be on track to getting everything done.

 

2. Eat well

Eat lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts are all good for the brain and energy levels and you will be fueling your body with good food. These foods are going to help you stay, also don’t forget to treat yourself with some chocolate, lollies or any food of your choice.

 

3. Exercise daily

Exercise will help clear your mind. exercise release endorphins that clear the mind. going for a walk, jog or playing a social game of sport is going to be refreshing.

 

4. Get enough sleep

Get a good night’s sleep. This gives your brain time to recharge and remember what you’ve learned. Staying up all night to study or revise notes will not be beneficial, you are better off to have an early nights sleep. Trying to get between 8-9 hours of sleep will benefit you the next day.

 

5. Give yourself breaks

It’s important to also have breaks, you need it. You will most likely be overwhelmed, so taking time off studying will help you stay refreshed and then when you get back to studying you will feel motivated to keep studying. Going for a walk, talking to a friend or even going for a jog will take your mind off things.

Quizelet is an that have a variety of learning tools flashcards and quizzes you anyone to use. It is helpful for studying as you might not have time to create your own, so this app lets you use their resources.

My Study Life is an app that helps you create study plans, and helps organize your school work. It reminds you of what assignments and homework you have coming up.
