Communication Skills 

Definition: the ability to convey or share ideas and feelings effectively.

Communication skills can make or break any relationship with friends, family members, partners, or even co-workers. 

Communicating well means you can get your point across clearly, and improving the art of listening shows other people that you care about what they have to say as well as what you say to them.

Communication is a skill used verbally, non-verbally and written to transfer information from one place to another. The importance of communication is to have the ability to communicate effectively using varied vocabulary.

 

  •  By communicating in a school environment we are able to build strong relationships with the people who we surround ourselves with.

  • By communicating with other people we are able to connect with each other and enhance our well-being by talking, writing and/or actions in how we communicate.

The recipe for great communication... 

Communication can be used in many ways... 

Vocal/oral: using voice

Written: using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails

Visually: logos, maps, charts and graphs

Nonverbally: using body language, gestures and the tone and pitch of voice
